ABOUT DRIVESAFE LONGMONT

DriveSafe Driving Schools is excited to open our newest center in Longmont on Parkway Promenade (by Lucky’s Market) at 700 Ken Pratt Boulevard, Suite 119, right next to Sola Salon Studios in the heart of Longmont.

DriveSafe trains more than 10,000 teens and adults annually, and we are proud to provide service to students and families from the St. Vrain Valley School District, including Erie, Silver Creek, Niwot, Mead, Frederick, Longmont and Skyline High Schools.

With 12 convenient locations throughout the Denver, Boulder and Longmont areas, DriveSafe is Colorado’s largest and most respected provider of Driver’s Education. We provide teen and adult classes (live and online), permit testing, behind-the-wheel training, license tests and defensive skills training.

We’re passionate about training new drivers to become safe and responsible decision-makers while driving, and we make every phase of the process enjoyable.

WHAT EDUCATION IS REQUIRED FOR ME TO OBTAIN A DRIVERS PERMIT?

Depending on your age, the Colorado State requirements for drivers education vary, as do the requirements for obtaining your driver’s license.
Below we’ve broken down basic permit requirements for your age group:

Teens Ages 14½ - 15

  • Complete Colorado’s mandated 30 Hours of classroom instruction

  • Once you have completed the classroom program and are at least 14 years and 11 months old, you are eligible to take your written permit test

  • Successfully pass the written Driving Knowledge Permit Test to be issued your driver’s permit

Teens Ages 15½ - 16

Teens Ages 16-17
