ABOUT DRIVESAFE CASTLE ROCK
DriveSafe is proud to provide high-quality driver’s education to the Castle Rock community.
After completing the classroom instruction, Castle Rock area teen students are welcome to complete their behind-the-wheel lessons and drive testing at our nearby locations in Highlands Ranch or as arranged, in Castle Rock.
With twelve convenient locations throughout the Denver metro area, DriveSafe is Colorado’s largest and most respected provider of Driver’s Education teen and adult classes, permit testing, behind-the-wheel training, drive tests and defensive skills training.

COMPREHENSIVE DRIVERS ED PROGRAMS
Our comprehensive programs include the State mandated 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel training.
BEHIND THE WHEEL LESSONS
Build a foundation of safe driving habits with one-on-one driving lessons with our expert and caring state-certified instructors. At our driving school, each session is tailored to individual students’ needs, and is designed to foster confidence through practical skill development.
ONLINE DRIVING SCHOOL
Our State-approved online drivers education offers self-paced and engaging lessons. Paired with behind-the-wheel training, our online programs can be completed anytime, anywhere.
EXPANDED DRIVER AWARENESS PROGRAMS
Students 15½ and older are eligible to take an intensive four-hour drivers education program on traffic laws and safe driving principles. For optimal driver’s education, students are encouraged to study the Colorado Driver Handbook before class. This program is great for adults and eligible ages that desire an accelerated route to obtaining their driver’s license.
ADULTS & SENIORS DRIVERS ED
Learn to be a safe driver by registering for lessons with highly-trained, state-certified driving instructors.
BEHIND THE WHEEL TRAINING
Develop defensive driving skills, road navigation abilities, and safe driving habits with our State-certified instructors. Whether you need experience with the complexities of the highway, practice in inclement weather, or confidence in your spatial awareness, our instructors tailor your lessons to your needs to help you become a safe and licensed driver. LICENSE TESTS
Register for your Drivers License Test, and include a refresher option to be better prepared to pass your drive test. Our instructors can help identify areas of opportunity and work one-on-one with you to give you your best path to success.

WHAT EDUCATION IS REQUIRED FOR ME TO OBTAIN A DRIVERS PERMIT?
Depending on your age, the Colorado State requirements for drivers education vary, as do the requirements for obtaining your driver’s license.
Below we’ve broken down basic permit requirements for your age group:
Teens Ages 14½ - 15

Complete Colorado’s mandated 30 Hours of classroom instruction

Once you have completed the classroom program and are at least 14 years and 11 months old, you are eligible to take your written permit test

Successfully pass the written Driving Knowledge Permit Test to be issued your driver’s permit
Teens Ages 15½ - 16

Complete either a 30 hour driver education course OR an approved 4 hour driver awareness program within 180 days of applying for your permit.

Successfully pass the written Driving Knowledge Permit Test to be issued your permit
Teens Ages 16-17

Study the Colorado Driver Handbook before taking the Driving Knowledge (written) Test.
